As tree stand use is a popular part of archery deer seasons, as well as other deer seasons, the Pennsylvania Game Commission is offering hunters the opportunity to take a free, voluntary online tree stand safety course.

To take the course, go to the agency’s website (www.pgc.state.pa.us), click on \”Education\” in the left-hand column of the homepage, then click on \”Tree stand Safety Course\” in the \”Education\” box in the upper right-hand corner of the page.

BROOKLAWN-After 60 years Ponzio’ Diner in Brooklawn (Rt. 130 and Browning Road) has changed its name to the Metro Diner. The Ponzio family opened the diner in 1949. That building was located in the same area but more in the middle of the block. It looked like other diners you see in the area, silver in color and one story high. Inside there was a long counter with stools to service customers and a number of booths. I am guessing but I believe in the 1970 or there about the present building seen in the photo replaced the original diner. Much bigger with two large dinning rooms on one side and booths along with the counter and stools on the other side.

The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife\’s popular Take a Kid Hunting Program has several exciting youth hunting opportunities scheduled for this fall. Special Youth Hunts for deer, pheasant, upland birds and waterfowl are held prior to the usual statewide opening days of those seasons.

The days afford young hunters the opportunity for a quality hunting experience in a setting that encourages responsible, ethical and safe hunting practices. 

All hunts require that the hunter possess a valid youth license, and be under the direct supervision of a properly licensed, non-hunting adult 21 years of age or older.

Surf Fishing Clinic – (No surf fishing experience needed.) Open to women at least 18 years old. All equipment and bait will be provided. Participants will learn the basics of surf fishing, including information on rods, reels, line, tackle, knots, bait, fish identification, casting, reading the surf, and caring for your catch. The afternoon will be spent on the beach using techniques learned to fish the surf. The workshop will take place rain or shine, warm or cold. Participants should be prepared with appropriate clothing, as well as other convenience items such as sun screen, sunglasses, hat, and foul weather gear.

Someone sent me this family photo of President Obama as a youngster along with a photo copy of a Indonesia registration certificate that I like to share with the readers of ClearysNoteBook. I lived and worked in Indonesia for Atlantic Richfield in the 1970\’s on and off over a 5 year period and read and spoke the language proficiently.

Seated to the right side along with his father, mother and little sister is President Barack Obama.

This I believe is a registration certificate to join the family in Indonesia just after the birth of Barack Obama\’s sisters in Honolulu, Hawaii. (click to enlarge)

1. Name: Barry Soetoros = Barack Obama.

2.Tempat Dan tanggal lahir:From Honolulu 4/8/61.

3.Bangas warga negara: Living in Indonesia.

4.Aginia: Religion – Islam.
